The problem for cell phone users is the fact that the phones are continually changing which can make it very difficult keeping up with all the latest functions that we can’t possibly do without. To help out with this problem, some facts have been supplied below to help make the correct choice and not end up with a phone that you wish you hadn’t signed up for. Also, many places like Argos mobile phones can provide additional information and a full stock list of mobile phones and accessories that are available.

Many cell phone users use up every last drop of energy before they recharge and this really is to be avoided. There is nothing worse than finding out your cell phone battery is no longer holding a charge for very long as you seem to be recharging it constantly and you will probably need a new one.

One easy way to extend the life of a cell phone battery is to turn of the backlight or reduce the brightness just so you can see what you need to on the screen. When traveling in areas where there is no coverage or there is only roaming coverage, turn off your cell phone completely as a cell phone uses a lot of battery power while trying to locate a network and in addition to this, try to limit your conversations on your cell phone.

So the more you talk, the quicker the phone battery will drain but this is also true for anytime it is connected to the Internet, downloading games for example or playing music. When downloading Web features, games, ring tones, wallpaper, and screensavers, be sure there are no recurring fees because some companies may not state it upfront but often these features have recurring monthly fees.

For parents buying a cell phone for their child, most companies will now allow them to disable this download function so only the parent has control over it via a password feature that the child cannot override. Before you make a decision on a cell phone it is worth considering how many minutes you will use per month and whether is will be worth arranging a pay-per use agreement or a pay monthly contract which could last one year or two.

The process for each contract will differ greatly but arranging a pay-per use contract for a regular cell phone user is probably not the best one to have financially speaking. Consider the features you want, as long-term plans often have more features on the cell phone for less money or even as a bonus at no charge, so ask if all your features, such as caller ID, will work when roaming.

Also with any plan, consider if long distance is included so find out the usual roaming charges, connection fees (if applicable), and if there are any other hidden fees in the plan. Steer clear of a contract that does not supply the phone with a cell phone insurance warranty as you could be liable for any costs if it were stolen or inadvertently damaged.

You also want to make sure that parts and accessories are easily obtained from any regular phone store, even if you purchase the phone from an Internet based company.
