You need to keep the building site secure and dry when when building a new family home

I have recently been working on a self build project and had to make sure I could lock away my tools from thieves. I discovered a business providing containers for sale and contacted them|I contacted a company providing containers for sale} and they were able to advise me on a particular product in their range which was site accommodation, the on site accommodation provided me with a place to do office work and have breaks but also provided me somewhere to put my equipment at the end of each day. The Containers had the brilliant reputation of never having been broken into. 

Needing a cost effective technique of keeping the work area dry when I constructed the structure because I intended building it by hand in cob and straw bale. I spoke to a UK marquee manufacturer about using one of their marquees as temporary storage over the foundations and first floor and they were very helpful in providing me with specs for the right kind of storage. I also looked at another temporary warehouse marquee for the preparation area and storage of the bales and cob. The Canopy would give me enough protection for the initial stage of the construction including footings and lower walls and allow me to work in any weather.

I love oak so wanted to use oak beams throughout the structure, just because I love the colour, feel and strength of oak. I found a timber supplier that had years of experience in oak and other timbers and they guided me on the most appropriate oak beams to select and cut them to size for me. I used them again for the oak flooring which I cant tell you how brilliant it looked. I used a natural wax on the oak flooring which brought out the wood grain brilliantly.
